Yarlington Housing Group has completed a deal with developer Hatchbury Homes to provide 42 new apartments on Dean Street in Bristol. Located within the popular area of St Paul’s, the new apartments will help to provide much needed affordable housing in a prime location in the city centre.

Due for completion in November 2020, the homes will consist of 36 apartments available for shared ownership and another six for social rent.

Wyn Bevan, Yarlington Housing Group’s Head of Development said:

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Hatchbury Homes and to have received grant funding from Homes England to be able to build these much needed affordable homes.

“The location of the apartments couldn’t be better, enabling people to live centrally and have easy access to all Bristol has to offer while still remaining affordable.”

Hatchbury Ltd added:

“It has always been Hatchbury’s ethos to retain and enhance any development we construct and this extends to the character of both the local area and community as well. We are incredibly excited to be working alongside Yarlington in delivering Dean + Wilder in one of Bristol’s most vibrant areas.

“In this day and age, the construction of affordable housing should no longer mean that we compromise on either the architectural design, interior finish or quality of construction. Working with Yarlington, Hatchbury have strived to provide aspirational living at an affordable price that will become the central hub of this rejuvenated and thriving part of Bristol.”

The shared ownership homes will provide an affordable option for homeownership, allowing customers to purchase a share of a property and pay discounted rent on the remainder.

The emphasis of the development’s contemporary architecture is to retain and enhance the community and provide a thriving neighbourhood. New homeowners will be just a short walk to the new Cabot Circus shopping centre as well as popular independent restaurants, bars and shops.

The new apartments continue Yarlington’s commitment to building 500 homes in Bristol, expanding on recently announced developments including 75 affordable homes at Castle Park View and another 31 homes at Speedwell swimming baths. Completed developments also include 26 apartments at Filwood Park and another 28 homes at Brook Road.
