Westfield Community Centre

We have worked with St Peter’s Church to help transform a 1960’s-built hall into a new purpose-built centre; St Peter’s Community Centre. The centre sits at the heart of our biggest estate in Yeovil and is now a vibrant hub for the community. Offering meeting rooms, a community café, modern facilities and full disabled access, the centre holds a range of activities, clubs and support including a weekly job club hosted by our employment support, Inspired to Achieve.

The Yeovil4Family project supports families who have been identified as needing extra help or support to address a range of areas from family breakdowns to enhancing social or life skills. The funding Yarlington contributed to this project along with South Somerset District Council will support their work until 2021.

Somerset Community Foundation

The Somerset Community Foundation raises funds for charitable causes. During winter, we partner with them to distribute funds for their surviving winter campaign. And make donations go further by offering 100% match funding.

Spark Somerset

We are working with Spark Somerset to deliver the Take Part project across South Somerset. The aim of the project is to enable customers to access guidance on any health and wellbeing issues and to provide access to services and support through the Wellbeing Directory. This is being achieved by regularly connecting with the community and partnering with other organisations to offer a range of interesting and enjoyable local activities.

We have also begun a programme of training for front-line staff to create Community Connectors to help signpost customers to external, local specialist health and wellbeing support.

West Country Savings and Loans

Yarlington has partnered with nine other social landlords to support a strong, effective Credit Union for customers across the south west. The partnership provides customers with a choice of simple, cost-effective savings accounts and competitive loans to help customers make the most of their money.
