What is Resident Participation?
Resident participation is a two way process that involves both the resident and Yarlington Housing Group as the Landlord. One of our priorities is to ensure that all our residents have the opportunity to participate in the management of their homes and in our decision making processes.
We recognise the importance of involving our residents and asking them to have ‘a say’ in issues, which affect them and their home. Both parties form a partnership to improve the housing service by exchanging information and ideas, and share the decision making.
Yarlington Housing Group believes that residents should be involved in managing their homes, and that it benefits the housing service you receive in many ways. These include:
- Help to improve housing management because staff and board members are better informed.
- Lead to greater tenant satisfaction because you will be able to have a say in the service you get.
- Give you more choice or more power over your own homes and the environment in which you live.
- It can help the community as a whole when people get more involved in the running of their homes and the environment in which you live.
- Yarlington Housing Group will support the formation of Local Residents' Associations, and ensure that contact with these groups is encouraged and maintained. These groups often run social events or projects for children as well as dealing with housing matters.
This website is in the process of being redeveloped to include new features that will benefit our residents. If you have any suggestions as to what you would like to see, please email us by clicking here.
