Have your say about Local Service Offers
WHAT MATTERS MOST
What matters most to residents living in a Yarlington home? That’s one of the key issues that members of the focus groups have been discussing over the last few months to help decide what the local service offers for 2012 should look like. The focus group members held a special workshop in the summer to put their initial ideas forward for a local service offer. They have now worked on these ideas and have developed a local service offer in four different areas; resident involvement, repairs and maintenance, neighbourhoods; green issues.
Following a recent meeting of the Resident Forum Steering Group and Yarlington’s board of management, the Board has given their broad support to the local service offers but want to hear what other residents have got to say about them. When the Board meets in May, it will consider the feedback from residents before making a final decision to approve the local service offers.
Nick Fry, Assistant Director for Housing at Yarlington explains what local service offers are. ‘The social housing regulator sets national service standards for housing associations. But it also realises that one size does not fill all and that housing associations should be able to design local service offers to reflect what matters most for residents locally. At Yarlington we want to tailor services to meet the needs of residents which is why we have been encouraging residents to really think about what’s important to them’.

Yarlington is seeking feedback from residents who have not been involved in the discussions so far. If you want to let Yarlington know what you think, please complete the short survey.
Or you can telephone 01935 404500 to ask for a printed copy of the local service offers. We will then send details to you along with a survey form and a prepaid envelope.
