Santa arrives on a new set of wheels
December 21, 2011

Santa decided to rest Rudolf and co and make a special visit on the community bus to bring smiles and gifts to almost 90 children at a very special Christmas party.
The annual Yarlington Children’s Christmas party is one of the highlights in the housing group’s calendar. It was held at Westland’s Sports and Leisure Club, where youngsters were delighted by local entertainer Steve Apelt. After a hectic session of party games, the children enjoyed a party tea before the arrival of the man himself in a flurry of snowflakes and jingly bells.
The children were then invited on to the Yarlington Community bus that had been transformed into a grotto to receive a present from Santa.
Parent Sarah Redington of Stoke Sub Hamdon commented ‘I would like to say a big thank you to Yarlington’s team for putting on an excellent Christmas Party yesterday. It was obvious that a lot of hard work and preparation went into the afternoon, and it was brilliant. My son Ben really enjoyed himself, he is normally quite shy but yesterday I hardly saw him, as he was having so much fun! He has already asked if we can go again!’
The parents weren’t left out either as they were entered into a prize draw if they filled out a questionnaire on how they would like to see the Yarlington Community Bus used. The lucky winner was Mrs Price who received a £20 Tesco Gift Voucher.
